Debate is a discussion, as of a public question in an assembly, involving opposing viewpoints.

Debate in politics is a disscussion, as of a benefic question in an elite group, involving ideas that can help the candidates to look good in from of a public and get votes in order to win a good salary.

This revolutionary idea of a debate with questions froma real people tat really is asking what the nation wants to know, its a good idea. However, we cannot give for granted that everything comes from the people. There is place to think that some influences were put in some of the questions to benefit the candidates. We cannot take out the point it was politic and 99.9% of it its fake.

AMERICANRHETORIC

The message is about the influence of television in us. How we believe and do everything what they say, we just go in the tube. This was made 30 years ago but it still is relevant for the present. People get everything from television and newspapers, we believe what they say, we built our ideas from what we see in it, and we don’t even know if it is truth.

It is not just in American culture, it is around the world. Television is the common point in cultures. No matter who you are, where are you from, what you know about what is going on in your country, continent or world comes form the television.

The idea is nothing new, but I think what attracts me to see it; it’s what he has to say about other ways to get information. Do we have really another option? Or is it just the idea of see but don’t believe?

UNEXPECTED

It was a beautiful day in Cartagena. We had swum in the beach for one hour, until we got tired. We started to feel very hungry, so we decided to go to an Italian restaurant. When we got there, Chris was with his girlfriend.
We said: “Hi”
They said: “Hi”
Then we ordered some food. After we realized it wasn’t Chris’s girlfriend, it was Matt’s girlfriend!!!
She was so beautiful and gorgeous. We talk for a while, but we didn’t understand why they were too close to each other. We decided, we ill ask Matt what’s happening between his girlfriend and Chris.

Which is more important in human development of personality and intellegence: genes or environment?

First of all I think we have to consider that Genes and Enviroment play an important roll deteminating personality and intelligence.

The genes are this part that is innate in you and will make esaier for you to pick knoledge of everything. Enviroment doesnt have to be innate, but it is difficult to get. However both can affect each other. For example if you have the genes, but the enviroment where you live is messy and also there is not room to study or work out, the genes may be dont work. If you dont have the genes, but you live in a home where everything is organized and you have a space to exercise you may will habit to it.

In my humble opinion in order to be totally succesful and develope your personality and intellegence, there have to be an equal participation of genes and eviroment. Each one can help or make it worse.

Alacridad

I think is an excellent opportunity for us. It is not just learn English is help other people. I think all the class is very glad about it. The idea that alacridad has and the roll that it is doing in Panama are very important. Its is a really nice labor that im sure 140 will be happy to help.

The simpsons

This chapter is about Lisa. She caracterized for being very intelligent couldn't solve a problem in a box. Making it worse even the most stupid kid could solve the problem. When she saw that she felt so frustrated, and after she wasnt able to do anything else. Feeling bad she went to talk to her grand pa. He wasn't big help. According to him, everything were the Simpson's gene. This gene was in all the simson family, and it does when the person get to 9 years old lose her intelligence. Looking for more information trying to solve the problem Lisa went to the doctor. There she saw a video no very helpful.
Witout any options she decides to get into Bart and Homer world. Being those the last days of her intelligence. She decides to go to feed her brain for last time. She went to a museum were admirating a painting, she relizes it wasnt the original. After she went to a Jazz Bar where she found the last thing to do before be a ...She went to an editorial to talk about never take your brain for granted, and enjoy it. However Homer wanted her to feel better so he call all his relatives to show her that Simson's gene wasnt totally truth. Although it didnt work in the begining, when they ask to the women she relizes that Simson's gene is only in men. She could solve the box problem and live nerd forever.

Being polite in Colombia

In Colombia to be polite means to respect other people. It is the main point in being polite. For Colombian people what other person thinks is very important, and they might think different, but they will always respect you.However, being polite also involve other things like how you behave yourself.

Colombia has a free society; however it is expected from people to be considerate in some places such a churchs and hospitals. Also give the first place a woman, it is very polite, things like give them a chair when ther is no chairs left,or open the door are things that are very polite. It is the same too for old people, you will be expect to be very respectful to them and also helpful with them.

Life in the universe

The name of the galaxy that we live in is the Milkyway. The number of galaxies and stars is countless.The closest star to the earth is the sun.

Life in other planets could be possible. We really dont know what is out there. However we know there are more planets what is giving us a clue that it could be other life. I believe there is life. I dont mean is the same as our, but there is some kind may be smarter, may be less developed.
I think we will know pretty soon if it is truth and we will make contact with them if so. Each day the world become more developed and the possibility to get into the universe and explore it.
I really dont know how it could be like. I think we will find more than one kind. I just hope it will help us, and no make everything even worse that its right now.

Wholefoods (Interview)

On Thursday, we went to do some interviews. My group was Soon Ok and William. We arrived to whole foods in first instance. However, it was too busy, so we decided to go later. When we finished the other interviews we came back to whole foods. We talked to a young woman in the cashier of the café. She was very nice and accepted us to interview her. The first thing was about her job.

“How do you like your job?” We asked her.
“I like it. It is very nice. People here are easy to work with” She answered.
“How long have you been here?”
“I have been here for 6 years”
“Do you think to continue here?”
“Yes, I think.”
“Why?”
“I really do like my job. It is easy and it gives me some free time.”
“Do you think you have any competition?”
“Like what Starbucks?”
“Yes.”
“No, I don’t think so people like more whole foods it has more options. Starbucks coffee taste bad.”
JaJaJa. All laugh.
“Do you have any own brands?”
“Yes, we do. Some are of coffee and all the bakery is make it by us.”
“Witch one is you’re the most popular product?”
“It is coffee.”
“Why do you think people like that one the best?”
“It is easy to ask for, and also it is the only one that you know you will fine always the same.”
“What kinds of people come here?”
“Many kinds of people. Here you will find from deep wallets to people that doesn’t have any money.”
“Do you have any costumers complains?”
“No, no really. However, sometimes when they get the wrong drink.”
“Do you need some kind of experience to work here?”
“No, for my job it is no require, but people that do bakery need some kind of knowledge in it.”
“How is the relationship between you and your boss?”
“It is very nice, and with a lot of respect to each other.”
“What is the best and the worst part of the work?”
“The best part is the job. The worst part is the days that are really busy. Those I really don’t like them, and also sometimes there are some rude people.”

Book People (Interview)

On Thursday, we went to do some interviews. My group was Soon Ok and William. When we arrived, right away we started to do the work. Our first place to visit was Book people. In the beginning it was a little bit difficult. The place had some people in it, so we didn’t want to get there in a busy moment. The person who accepted the interview was a young and nice woman. The interview started about her work environment

“I like it. It is an easy and relaxing job.” She said.
“How long have you been working here?” We asked
“I have been working here for one year, and I hope I will be here for a long time. I really like this job”
“Do you thing you have any competition close to Book people?”
“No, people like to support local business, and also they are lazy to cross the street.” She laugh.
“Do you sale any own brand?”
“No, we don’t have any own bran. However, we sale some brands from local business.”
“Which do you think is your more popular item?”
“I will say it is coffee, regular coffee.”
“Why do you think regular is the popular?”
“It is the easiest one to ask for.”
“What kind of people like to come here?”
“All kinds of people like to come here.”
“Do you have any complains from costumers.”
“Yes, we do. They ask for other foods like sandwiches.”
“Have you done something about it?”
“No, we really don’t. In order to do that, we will need another kitchen. The state of Texas doesn’t permit us with the kitchen that we have. It implies a lot of work, so we really don’t want to do it. Like how it is now, it is fine.”
“Do you need some kind of education or experience to work here?”
“No, but I have work in some others coffee shops before.”
“How is the relationship with your boss?”
“It is great. Actually I met her before I work here. I baby-sit for her. We more than work together, we are friends.”
“What is the best and the worst part of your job?”
“The best thing of my job is the work environment. The worst thing is rude people. Once one guy stole money from the tip bottle, and the cashier woman was pregnant. I get really upset. People tried to caught him, but they couldn’t.”
